Un Arconte es un agente reconocido de uno de los Justicares de la Camarilla. Si los Justicars son las manos del Círculo Interior, los Arcontes son sus dedos.
Arconte: alto funcionario, gobernante; Uno de los nueve magistrados principales de la antigua Atenas; Una figura autorizada, un líder.
Los arcontes casi siempre son seleccionados por su Justicar al comienzo de su mandato y normalmente son despedidos cuando su Justicar es reemplazado. Se pueden elegir individuos para convertirse en Arconte por una variedad de servicios que van desde destreza en combate, tácticas, capacidades de investigación o espionaje. A menudo son elegidos entre las filas de los servires que han demostrado ser valiosos ayudantes de campo entre los Arcontes veteranos.
Los propios Arcontes suelen ser bastante hábiles por derecho propio y, como enviados de la voluntad de su Justicar, tienen mucha influencia política. Sin embargo, los Arcontes no siempre actúan abiertamente y pueden simplemente desviar recursos e información a ciertos Vástagos desde detrás de escena. De hecho, es una gran vergüenza para el Príncipe de una ciudad que se envíe un Arconte para ayudar a mantener el orden. Dada la naturaleza tradicionalmente poco confiable de la sociedad vampírica, la lealtad de los Arcontes generalmente está asegurada artificialmente a través del vínculo de sangre.

Aunque actuaron como Arcontes de los Fundadores, los cuatro Vástagos pioneros que asumieron el cargo no estaban bajo Juramento de Sangre a sus respectivos Justicars, a diferencia de muchos en los tiempos modernos. Perseguidos por Cainitas más poderosos durante las primeras noches de sus nuevas no-vidas, aprendieron del poder del Vínculo de Sangre y optaron por unirse entre sí compartiendo su sangre. Cada Arconte estaba bajo el Juramento de Sangre hacia otro, quien a su vez había hecho el juramento a otro más. Los vínculos que existían dentro de esta camarilla eran sus mayores secretos, pero también una fuente de fortaleza de la que podía depender en tiempos de crisis.
